Logging off from instant messaging
Once you log off from instant messaging, your online status does not appear in other people's mail messages, views, and Instant Messaging Contact Lists. You cannot receive instant messages or instant meeting invitations, and you cannot view your Instant Messaging Contact List.

To log off from instant messaging, choose File - Instant Messaging - Log Off Instant Messaging.
